18mm Si3N4 Ceramic Balls are made of Silicon Nitride (Si3N4) and offer high strength, low density, corrosion and high temperature resistance.
1. Hardness and Strength: The hardness is up to HV1700-1800, which is twice that of bearing steel, and the compressive strength is up to 1.7GPa.
2. Lightweight: Density is only 3.2g/cm³, 59% lighter than steel, reducing centrifugal force and wear at high speeds.
Resistant to extreme environments: High temperature resistant (no performance degradation at 1100°C), corrosion resistant (strong acids/alkalis/seawater), suitable for aerospace and marine exploration.
3. Self-lubricating: no need for lubrication media, reducing maintenance costs. Widely used in high-precision bearings, automotive turbochargers, aerospace navigation systems and ocean exploration equipment.
1. High-speed Bearing Systems
Definition: used to replace steel balls to optimise the tribological performance of high-speed rotating machinery.
Only 40% of the density of steel balls (3.2g/cm³ vs. 7.8g/cm³), 59% reduction in centrifugal force, suitable for electrospindles above 100,000 rpm (Fact Sheet 2911)
Self-lubrication reduces friction loss by 30%, Tesla Model 3 motor bearings use silicon nitride hybrid ceramic bearings
2. High temperature industrial equipment. Chemical pumps, valves and marine equipment components that are resistant to acid, alkali and seawater erosion.
Definition: heat-resistant components for scenarios such as molten metal processing and high-temperature furnace temperature measurement.
3. Aerospace and medical precision components
Definition: Lightweight, non-magnetic, insulated precision functional components.
1. Keep clean | 2. Use with caution | 3. appropriate tool | 4. Hot-loading | 5. Be careful of rust |
Dust will have a bad effect on the bearing, so keep the surrounding clean. | Strong impact during use can easily cause scratches and indentations. | Avoid replacing existing tools, and use appropriate tools. | Bearings are precision parts, so hot installation is recommended. | Sweat on your hands during operation will cause rust, so it is best to wear gloves. |
